Help
with using this site
Here
is some advice to help you download the sample pages.
What
is a pdf file?
Adobe®
Portable Document Format (PDF) is an open de facto standard for
electronic document distribution worldwide. The sample material
in this site is available as pdf files. To view these files, you
will need Adobe Acrobat, or Adobe Acrobat Reader installed,
which is available to download for free.
How do I get hold of Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Reader?
Just click the yellow button above to visit the Adobe web site where
you can download Adobe Acrobat Reader. This is quick, free and easy
to do and you will only have to do it once. If you are using a school
computer, you may wish to check with your school IT department first.
Wherever you see this grey image in our website, this means there
is a pdf file available to download. We have included the size of
the file to help you decide if you wish to download it or save it
to view at a later date. (To save the file you can simply right
click over the relevant pdf image and choose Save Target As. Then
choose where you want to save the file to).
How
do I download a sample page file?
First,
make sure you have Adobe Acrobat installed. If you wish to download
the file, click on the relevant grey image and the file will open
up in a new window. Using standard Adobe settings you can browse
through the sample pages. Please note that depending on the time
of day and your connection speed to the Internet, it may take a
minute or so to download some of the files. If your screen freezes,
please check if your school computers have an automatic cut off
time. You may see just a white screen for a short while but the
file should be downloading even though you cannot see anything happening.
Can
I print out these pages?
You
can print and save the files for personal/classroom use. Please
note that all the material included in these files is copyrighted
to Hodder Murray and is not for further distribution without the
permission of the publishers.
